Day-Date 40 Watches
The Rolex Day-Date came off as the epitome of brand's watch artistry in 1956. The premium watch manufacturer let out its most elegant and luxurious watches within the Oyster Perpetual Day-Date Collection. For years, the 36 mm Day-Date models were available in gold or platinum editions. Later, 41 mm models also made an appearance with the same 3-hand timepiece along with the incredible date and day features. However, the year 2015 brought a total revolution with the new Rolex Day-Date 40 mm models.
Rolex Day-Date 40 with new improved designs
The new Rolex Day-Date 40 brings back the original 36-mm Day-Date with a slightly bigger size and a few enhancements. The 40 mm models are again very elegantly designed with precious metals. But, you have a bit more options this time. Firstly, there are 18-carat gold versions including White Gold, Yellow Gold, and Everose Gold. And then there's the king of the brigade which is the platinum version.
All the Day-Date 40 models also retain Rolex's traditional President bracelet. The golden models feature a fluted bezel while the platinum version wears a smooth bezel. The Rolex Day-Date 40 also offers a diamond bezel version.
The Calibre 3255 movement
Apart from aesthetics, there's a major technical tweak in the Rolex Day-Date 40. The novel range of Rolex watches features an all-new movement i.e. Calibre 3255. Owing to this change, these Rolex oyster models have a new indicator for the date and the day of the week. Also, the 3255 movement provides a 70 hours power reserve, a new anti-magnetic Chronergy escapement, and a high precision of -2/+2 seconds per day. The new movement has more than 14 patents and claims to feature 90 percent new elements.
